Pir Pagaro has been sentenced to death by a Martial Law court on a charge of “waging and preparing war against the King-Emperor” says a Sind Government communique.
The Pir was found guilty of three offences out of four with which he was charged.
The following is the full text of the Sind Government’s communique on Pir Pagaro:
Syed Sabghatullah Shah, Pir Pagaro, was tried by a military court at Hyderabad. The trial lasted for 26 days from January 29, 1943, to February 23, 1943.
The Pir Pagaro was found guilty of three out of four charges and sentenced to death, his property, movable and immovable, being confiscated to the State.
The Court found the Pir Pagaro guilty of (a) abetment to wage war against the King-Emperor, (b) conspiracy with certain named individuals to wage war against the King-Emperor, (c) preparing to wage war against the King-Emperor.
