TOBA TEK SINGH: At least 30 passengers of a bus were injured when it overturned near Kamalia Sugar Mills on Toba-Chichawatni road on Sunday.

According to Rescue 1122 sources the accident occurred when a bus going to Chishtian from Faisalabad hit a parked trolley that was overloaded with sugarcane.

Rescue 1122 ambulances shifted the injured to the hospitals at Kamalia and Rajana, besides the district headquarters hospital, where they were provided first aid.

Four of the passengers -- Mubashir Zia and Zafar Mahmood of Burewala,Muhammad Aslam of Chichawatni and Mahboob Ahmad of Sahiwal -- who were injured seriously were admitted to the DHQ hospital.

PASSES AWAY: Senior journalist and local press club’s former president Mian Ihsanul Haq Burki died here on Sunday after protracted illness. He was 84.

People from all walks of life attended his funeral prayers, including state minister for communication Junaid Anwar Choudry, counter terrorism minister retired Colonel Sardar Ayub Gadhi and MPAs Mian Rafiq and Amjad Ali Javed.

Quran khawani for the late journalist will be held on Monday (today) at 9am at Jamia Masjid of Mahmood Abad.
