ISLAMABAD: Aftab Akbar Durrani was appointed as chief commissioner Islamabad on Tuesday.

According to a notification issued by Establishment Division, Aftab Akbar Durrani, a grade 20 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, was transferred to Interior Division and appointed as the chief commissioner Islamabad.

He was previously posted as joint secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Council Secretariat under Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad retired Capt Mushtaq Ahmed was given acting charge of the post after transfer of former chief commissioner Zulfikar Haider last month.
