KARACHI, May 14: Half-centuries by Trevor Gripper and Justice Chibhabha guided Zimbabwe ‘A’ to 164 for five on the second day of the second unofficial Test against Pakistan ‘A’ at the Harare Sports Club on Friday. Pakistan ‘A’, however, were still in driving seat because the hosts trailed by 143 runs on the first innings. The visitors made 311 after starting the day at 256 for six.

Neil Ferreira, the star of Zimbabwean batting in the first Test, was out early for 15 when Left-arm pace bowler Mohammad Khalil trapped him in front.

But Gripper and Chibhabha steadied the innings with responsible batting. Gripper, the Test opener, made 50, a 112-ball knock in 142 minutes which included seven boundaries.

Chibhabha was still batting when stumps were drawn for the day with 54.
