I HAVE read the word ‘untimely’ in obituary announcements and obituaries of famous people written by noted scholars in Dawn and other newspapers.
Time of death is predetermined as it is mentioned in quite a few verses of the Holy Quran; the use of word ‘untimely’ for someone’s demise is against Muslim belief.
It would be appropriate to use the word ‘unexpected’ regarding demise of a ‘healthy’ person.
