MIRPURKHAS, May 13: The police booked a number of People’s Party Parliamentarians’ office-bearers and workers of Mirpurkhas, including district president, on Thursday for attacking the SHO of taluka police station and creating a law and order situation when police tried to stop them at Ratanabad police post from welcoming the district nazim, Mirpurkhas, Pir Shafqat Hussain Shah Jilani, at Jamrao bridge.

Police arrested people’s youth wing president of Mirpurkhas and two others nominated in the FIR.

A case was lodged with the Old Mirpur police under section 353 and 147 PPC against district president PPP Mirpurkhas, Haji Noor Hassan Chandio, Yar Muhammad Baloch, Hadi Bux, Nizamuddin Panhwar, Imam Bux Jiskani, Tharo Khan Panhwar, divisional president of the People’s youth wing, Akhtar and 30 others.

Different places were raided by police late on Thursday night, apprehending Tharo Khan Panhwar, divisional president of people’s youth wing, Imam Bux Jiskani and Nizamuddin Panhwar.

They were produced before the judicial Magistrate, Mirpurkhas, who remanded them in police custody for three days.

Meanwhile, the First Additional Session Judge, Mirpurkhas granted pre-arrest bail to the PPP office bearers and workers on Friday.

CASES LODGED: The Anti-Corruption Establishment Mirpurkhas, lodged an FIR under section 420, 467, 468, 471, 477-A PPC against seven police constables of Mirpurkhas police who were recruited on the basis of fake educational certificates on Thursday.

They included Azizullah Panhwar, Imtiaz Panhwar, Mehrab Panhwar, Ramzan Panhwar, Aachan Panhwar, Abdul Ghafoor Panhwar and Anwar Panhwar. The circle in charge of the ACE said that he had formed a team of officials to arrest the accused.

He said that earlier the DPO Mirpurkhas had ordered an inquiry against them which revealed that the certificates were fake.

WORKERS PROTEST: Around 200 railway employees, engaged to replace railway track between Mirpurkhas to Khokhrapar, staged a protest demonstration at railway station Mirpurkhas to protest against non-payment of TA/DA, food, drinking water on the site and casual leaves by railway authorities.

Carrying instruments of digging and raising slogans against the railway authorities they demanded of the President, General Pervez Musharraf, federal railways minister and the chairman railway to provide them facilities.
