LAHORE, May 12: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will conduct a regional referee course in Pakistan without any local referee from May 24 to 28 in Islamabad. AFC has invited 13 referees from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. However, AFC has allowed five referees from Pakistan to attend the course as observers.
Those recommended as observers by Pakistan Football Federation are Mohammad Atiq Rehmatullah, Abdul Zahir Kasi, Shahid Khan, Naeem Zaidi and Farid Ullah.
AFC has appointed India’s Milan Datta to conduct the course as chief referee. Ali Mohammad, Saeed Bujsaim (UAE), Mohammad Nazri Abdullah (Malaysia) are three instructors.
Following 13 referees will attend the course:
Manirul Islam, M Abdul A Mansur (Bangladesh), Gagan Rai, Ratan Rai (Bhutan), D’ Costh A John, Michael Andrews (India), Hossein Asgari, Masoud Enayat (Iran), Kolpakov Viktor (Kyrgyzstan), A.M Yapa, N Wickramathunga (Sri Lanka), Ramazanov Eldar (Turkmenistan), Khaydarov Babur (Uzbekistan).
