BAJAUR, Jan 7: A strong contingent of 4,000 scouts to be deployed along the border left the Bajaur Agency on Monday in the face of mounting tension between Pakistan and India.

The step was taken in accordance with the NWFP government decision to deploy scouts from all the tribal agencies on the frontlines as there was no letup in the tension between Pakistan and India.

As the political administration had impounded around 300 private and public vehicles to transport the scouts to the frontlines during the last couple of days, the people faced numerous difficulties to travel to other parts of the province.

The scouts camps would be handed over to the Levies force in all the tribal agencies.
