Cholera claims yet another life

GUJRANWALA, May 11: A teenaged girl died of cholera while 24 other patients from rural areas were admitted to hospital on Wednesday. The number of cholera patients has enhanced to 76 in the last five days.

According to reports, cholera broke out in rural areas a few days ago. More than 52 patients, mostly children between 10 and 12 years, were admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital.

Najma Bibi, a resident of Alipur Chattha, breathed her last on Wednesday.

When contacted, the DHQ hospital administration confirmed that cholera had broken out because of consumption of contaminated water.

WOMAN HELD: The Civil Lines police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested a women, who was allegedly involved in various murder cases.

The police said Khalida Bibi, a resident of Nausher Road, allegedly killed her two-year-old son Goshi, her niece Attiya and later a child, Fasihuddin.
