KUALA LUMPUR, May 11: Around 1,100 Pakistani workers have arrived in Malaysia, the first batch from an estimated 100,000 Pakistanis scheduled to go to the country to meet a labour shortage caused by the recent expulsion of Indonesian workers, a news report said on Wednesday.

It said 1,100 Pakistanis had started working in the manufacturing sector and the rest would take up jobs in stages.—APP
