Criticism of KP police ‘pre-planned’: PTI

ISLAMABAD: Lauding the performance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Friday claimed that the police were being maligned under a “pre-planned campaign” by the party’s opponents.

According to a PTI spokesman, the party’s core committee meeting was held at Banigala with PTI chairman Imran Khan in the chair where he expressed his satisfaction over the performance of KP police.

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak hoped that the police would soon arrest culprits of recent violent incidents in Mardan and Kohat in which a girl was sexually abused and murdered and a medical student was shot dead, respectively.

“We cannot follow Punjab and Sindh governments who cheat people by arresting innocent people or fake culprits and claim that they have solved cases,” the spokesman said.

The committee decided to appoint its three firebrand leaders — Ali Muhammad Khan, Murad Saeed and Shehryar Afridi — as spokesmen for the provincial government.

Interestingly, the party appointed to the provincial position the PTI leaders who are members of the National Assembly instead of its provincial leaders.
