Land grabbers injure two constables

GUJRANWALA, May 7: Two constables were injured when land grabbers attacked a raiding team in Siloki Alipur Chattha village here on Saturday. Later, a joint party of three police stations arrested them after a ‘shootout.’ Reports said Chaudhry Ahmad Chattha and his men had allegedly grabbed a piece of land and started construction there. Residents of the village informed the police. On seeing the police, the accused attacked and held hostage constables Muhammad Amir and Muhammad Javed. Later, a team of Alipur Chattha, Ahmadnagar and Rasulnagar police reached the spot and arrested Ahmad Chattha, Bilal Ahmad, Master Muhammad Azam and Zafar Ahmad after an armed clash. The police managed release of the constables.

A case has been registered.

FOUND MURDERED: A property dealer was found murdered in his house in Model Town area here on Saturday.

Reports said the family of Haji Muhammad Abbas had gone to attend a marriage party. On return, they found him murdered and valuables taken away.

The family suspected that Haji Abbas was killed by dacoits on offering resistance.
