PML-Q to take part in PAT’s protest

LAHORE: The PML-Q will participate in the protest to be staged by Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on The Mall on Jan 17 to seek justice in the Model Town killing case.

A decision to the effect was taken at a meeting presided over by PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Husain here on Saturday.

Former deputy prime minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, PML-Q Secretary General Tariq Bashir Cheema, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, PML-Q parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly Moonis Elahi, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, Muhammad Basharat Raja and Hafiz Ammar Yasir were also present in the meeting.

It decided that a delegation of PML-Q headed by Pervaiz Elahi would take part in the Jan 17 protest on The Mall. It also chalked out a strategy for securing justice for the victims of Model Town tragedy.

In the meeting, newly-elected Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo was felicitated by the leaders and on behalf of the party.

Earlier, Model Town tragedy action committee member Senator Kamil Ali Agha presented the report and preparations for the protest.
