KHAIRPUR, May 5: Activists of Anjuman-i-Tajiran, Shehri Ittehad and Jagarta Forum held a joint protest meeting here on Thursday. They decided to launch a protest drive for restoration of stops of 15 trains at Khaipur. The meeting resolved that the protest would include a six-hour shutter-down strike and processions.
It recalled that at the time of merger of Khairpur State with Pakistan, it was agreed that all trains would stop at the Khairpur railway station.
At present only six of the 15 trains had stopped in Khairpur due to which traders, students and people belonging to the district were facing hardships.
PROTEST: Farmers of Kot Mir Mohammad and its surrounding areas took out a procession on Thursday in protest against Hesco Priyaloi.
They said despite payment of electricity bills, power of agriculture tube-wells had not been restored and its lines were disconnected.
WATER SHORTAGE: Farmers of the Machhar minor took out a procession against the shortage of water here on Thursday.
The procession started from the Machhar minor road and terminated at the Panj Hatti chowk.
