PESHAWAR, May 5: NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has ordered release of funds for public welfare projects identified in the Annual Development Programme (ADP).

Addressing a meeting at the Frontier House here on Thursday, he also directed the officials concerned to finalize arrangements for construction of a modern bus terminal in Peshawar.

He disagreed with the proposed modification and change in the original plan of the terminal and said that all services for which orders had already been issued should be made available there. The government would provide additional resources if needed but there should be no delay in the work, he said.

Mr Durrani said that funds had been released for a hospital for women and children to be constructed near the Ring Road and added that the Japanese government had showed interest in financing it.

The meeting reviewed an offer of doctors to establish a medical college and allied nursing, educational and training facilities in the Bannu township scheme. It agreed to encourage such offers from the private sector.

The chief minister expressed the hope that the release of fund would facilitate the completion of projects indicated by the public through their representatives.
