ISLAMABAD, Jan 6: Secretary Information and Media Development Syed Anwer Mehmood held an assurance to the PBC employees that their right of having a bargaining agency would be restored by the end of march this year.
Anwar Mahmood, who is also the chairman of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, said this while speaking at Eid reunion party organised by the United Staff Organisation of the PBC employees here Saturday.
He said the PBC would progress in the right direction and quality change would be felt at all levels.
“The government has allocated Rs150 million for the installation of three new transmitters which would further boost the performance of Radio,” he said and added “the demand of providing house hiring facility would be considered favourably and the employees with 20 years of regular service could be given the facility.” This proposal would be examined and placed before the Board of Directors meeting.
Director General PBC Salim Gul Shaikh while speaking on the occasion disclosed that the PBC would be launching four more new F.M stations at Faisalabad, Sialkot, Rahim Yar Khan and Hyderabad in the months of February and March this years.—APP
