Man shot dead over land dispute

ISLAMABAD: A man was murdered by his relative over a land dispute in capital’s rural area on Wednesday, police stated.

The incident took place at Village Pehont, located in Nilor area, they stated.

Naeem Mushtaq, 43, and the accused were first cousins and shared a family property, including a house.

On Wednesday, a dispute arose when a wall to decide their jurisdiction in the inherited house was being constructed, which led to a physical fight between them.

Later the accused brought a pistol and opened fire on Mushtaq, killing him on the spot.

Later, the body was shifted to a hospital for medico-legal.

Separately, robbers struck at two different places and looted cash and valuables, the police stated.

In the first incident, two armed men raided a a hardware shop in Ghori Town Phase V and held up the shopkeepers at gunpoint. When they tried to snatch cash, one of the shopkeepers put up resistance which annoyed the culprits who opened fire at him, injuring him.

Later the robbers made off with the cash.

In another incident, three armed men looted a shop of cash and valuables, including mobiles in Shams Colony and escaped.
