HYDERABAD, Aug 25: The Crime Investigation Cell recovered a huge quantity of powder, normally used in coalmines, from the Baban Shah Colony and picked up a suspect, Gul Mohammad Daedano, on Monday.

The explosives included 50kg of gunpowder, 250kg of sulphur nitrate, 60kg of sodium nitrate, 20kg of carbon and 40 fuse rolls (total 3,000 meters).

The SHO, GOR police station, Naeem Siddiqui, denied that any such recovery was made. However, the DPO, Hyderabad, A. D. Khwaja, confirmed the recovery.

Police is yet to ascertain as to what Gul meant to do with it.

However, a police source said that the powder was used in coalmines and the suspect used to sell it without having a license.

MEETING HELD: The regional police officer, Hyderabad, Ghulam Mohammad Malkani, has directed the Taluka police officers and SHOs of Hyderabad city to ensure that the perpetrators of the recent bomb blasts are brought to book.

The meeting was held at the DPO office, Hyderabad, on Saturday.

A police source said that the RPO directed policemen in clear terms that there should not be any delay in arresting those involved in these incidents.
