Railways and Army clash for trophy

KARACHI, Aug 23: Pakistan Army and Pakistan Railways reached the final of the KESC inter-departmental basketball tournament at KPT Sports Complex on Saturday.

Army scored a 79-63 victory over PAF to secure the final berth. Army, who were leading 45-31 at halftime, were ably supported by Nawazish (31 points), Mir Alim (20 points) and Khalid (12 points).

Imran (18 points), Gul Hassan (16 points) and Jamal (eight points) were notable scorers from PAF.

In another semifinal, Railways bounced back from 39-45 to defeat Habib Bank 78-67. Liaquat scored 34 points, while Allah Bukhsh 32 from Railways. Zahid (21 points) and Azam (18 points) performed well for the bankers.
