One more dies of dengue in Peshawar hospital

PESHAWAR: The death toll from the dengue fever on Friday rose to 45 after a 50-year-old man succumbed to the vector-borne disease at Khyber Teaching Hospital here.

The victim, Maraja, was resident of Nawa Kallay. He succumbed to dengue fever after remaining hospitalised for four days, according to the Dengue Response Unit of Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to it, during the last 24 hours, around 1,831 dengue tests were conducted, out of which, 428 were found dengue positive.

A total of 120 patients were admitted to various hospitals for treatment, raising the total number of dengue patients presently getting treatment in different hospitals to 391. About 117 patients were discharged during the last 24 hours from different hospitals after their condition improved.
