Nawaz guides SSC home

MIRPURKHAS, Aug 18: Shaheen Sports Club (SSC), Mirpurkhas, beat Munawar Qureshi Memorial Sports (MQMSC), Hyderabad, by 84 runs in the inaugural match of Sindh Sports Board (SSB) Gold Cup tournament at PCB Ground on Sunday.

Batting first, SSC managed 227 for nine in limited 40 overs. Man of the Match Ahmed Nawaz Zahid played a fine innings of 92 with the help of seven boundaries and one six. Muhammed Waseem 38 and Agha Tahir 32 also batted well.

Irfan Khan claimed three for 28 while Israr Shaikh and Haris Hanif also bagged two wickets at the cost of 36 and 41 runs.

MQMSC failed to achieve the target and bundled out at 143 runs in 37. 3 overs. Junaid Murtaza 49, Haris Hanif 32 and Rashid Mallah 24 were the main contributors. Agha Shariq and Sardar Khan shared three wickets.
