LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved five development schemes of the road sector with an estimated cost of Rs8.66 billion.
These schemes were approved in the 14th meeting of the party of fiscal year 2017-18, says a handout.
The approved development schemes included: widening or improvement of 54 kilometres (km) Pattoki-Kanganpur Road (revised) at the cost of Rs1.13 billion; dualisation of Kasur-Depalpur Carriageway (from km 0 to 98.95) at Rs5.9 billion; construction or widening and improvement of road from Chowk 177 Murad to Chunanwala via Chak Nos 204/M, 203/M, 205/M, 206/M, 207/M and 209/M along with Adda 177/Murad to Pansota Chowk Via 167/M Morr, 138/M and 140/M (27.20 km) in Bahawalnagar at the cost of Rs534.177 million; construction of metalled road from Layyah Garh Maha Raja Road to Ameer Kalasra (50 km), in Layyah at Rs450.000 million; construction of an overhead bridge at Railway Crossing on Lodhran-Jalalpur Road in Lodhran at the cost of Rs1.165.422 billion and the construction of road from Ghulla to Mangwal (18 km), Chakwal, at the cost of Rs583.388 million.
