HYDERABAD, Aug 17: The controller of examinations, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, on Saturday announced the results of Higher Secondary Certificate-II examinations of the humanities group.

Outshining boys in the examinations, all the three top positions were grabbed by girls.

Out of 5,791 regular and 4,619 private students who appeared in the examinations, 4,085 regular and 3,326 private candidates were declared pass. The pass percentage on the whole remained 71.19.

Among boys, Gul Hassan, son of Mohammad Ibrahim Bhoot, of the Shah Waliullah Oriental College, Mansoorah, secured the first position with 756 marks and Nand Lal, son of Lachman Das Menghwar, and Khamiso Khan, son of Waryam Soomro, of the M. D. Oriental and Arts College, H. M. Alimpali, secured second and third positions by obtaining 747 and 743 marks respectively.

Among girls, Ammar Arain, daughter of Ghulam Rasool Arain, of the Government Shah Latif Girls College, Latifabad, and Uzma Iqbal, daughter of Chaudhry Mohammad Iqbal, of the Government Girls College, Badin, shared the first position by obtaining 807 marks each. Sobia Iqbal, daughter of Chaudhry Mohammad Iqbal, of the Government Girls College, Badin, and Sumaira Fatima, daughter Mohammad Mansha, of the Government Girls College, Kotri, secured second and third positions by obtaining 793 and 761 marks respectively.

WOMAN: A woman, resident of Tando Bago who is presently living in unit-11, Latifabad, has said she has left her husband of her will and filed a dissolution of marriage suit in a family court.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday, the woman, Aalma, said her father, Mohammad Yousuf Khaskheli, had arranged her marriage with Papu Khaskheli three years back.

She said she was frequently tortured but her in-laws, and even her father, refused to provide her with protection.
