KARACHI, Jan 4: Rest of Sindh (RoS) took a 106-run first innings lead to tighten their grip in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match against Rest of Balochistan (RoB) at National Stadium Friday.
Responding to RoB first innings score of 270, RoS made 376 all out in their first innings after resuming at 226-5 on the third day of their four-day tie.
At stumps RoB were 65 for three in their second innings, still needing 41 runs to wipe out RoS first innings lead.
Earlier, two solid stands helped RoS to gain big first innings advantage. Ali Nawaz and Rizwan Qureshi shared a 73-run sixth wicket stand in 116 minutes.
Abdul Rahim and Javed Liaquat then frustrated RoB bowlers by putting 97 for the eighth wicket in just 100 minutes.
Ali Nawaz hit four boundaries in his 33 while Rizwan Qureshi slammed nine fours and a six in his 62 off 167 balls.
Abdul Rahim’s sparkling knock of 67 was laced with 11 hits the boundary in his just under three stay at the crease while Javed Liaquat belted ten fours in his 49.
