MULTAN, Jan 4: The Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) has got a printing machine installed in the institution to save resources to the tune of Rs4 million per annum.

University Vice-Chancellor Dr Ghulam Mustafa Chaudhry on Thursday started the experimental operation in a ceremony.

It was learnt the venture would reduce the university expenditure incurred on printing answer books, prospectuses, pads, admission forms, postal envelopes, research journals, demand sheets, books and stationery.

Treasurer in the university alleged the previous managements had given a monopolistic status to a private printing firm which charged heavily as compared to the market rates. The situation compelled the VC to get the machine installed, he added.

He hoped the press would start functioning within next two months.
