Border trade with China discussed

GILGIT, Aug 10: Officials from Pakistan and China the other day reviewed the security and border trade situation in a meeting held in the Chinese province of Xingiang.

An official delegation of the Northern Areas, mainly comprising police officials and headed by Inspector General of Police, Northern Areas, Ahsan Mukhtar Ashraf visited Urumqi in Xingiang to discuss measures to provide better facilities in this regard, sources said.

The Chinese delegation was headed by Xingiang’s police chief, they said.

The Pakistani team also checked security arrangements at various police check-points between Gilgit and the Khunjerab Pass along the Karakoram Highway.
