ISLAMABAD: The two-day international squash exhibition matches between Pakistan and World V ended here on Thursday at the Squash Complex after Pakistan outclassed visiting top-ranked players to win the series convincingly.

Pakistan’s top-ranked Farhan Mehboob showed his class in the last match of the series outclassing in straight games Egypt’s senior player Karim Al-Fathi who is world number 35.

World number 50 Farhan took only 23 minutes to outclass Al-Fathi with the score being 11-4, 11-7, 11-4. Mehboob showed brilliance in his drop and cross court shots which helped him win the match and seal series victory for Pakistan 3-2.

Two other matches were played with Pakistan’s Amaad Fareed beating England’s Nathan Lake in tough five games with score being 11-3,11-4, 7-11,11-13, 7-11. After losing first two games, Amaad made a strong comeback, stunning his opponents with aggressive game, and succeeded to win the match without facing any serious resistance in the fifth game.

Earlier Lucas Serme of France beat Pakistan’s Ahsan Ayaz in straight game 7-11, 11-1, 11-5.

Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, Air Marshal Asad Lohdi awarded trophies to winners and runners-up.
