CHITRAL: Two persons were killed and as many injured in a road accident here on Friday.

According to police, a van carrying a group of ulema to attend a Tableeghi Ijtima (religious gathering) met an accident in Astaro in Upper Chitral.

As a result, Maulana Zakirullah, a resident of Bakrabad, and Maulana Sohaib Ahmed of Torkoh died on the spot, while Maulana Mohammad Youaf of Ayun and Maulana Hafeezur Rehman of Chamarkan sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to hospital.
