PESHAWAR, Aug 5: A defunct tribal court has resumed its activities by banning four people from Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency as they were suspected of molesting minor boys in the area.

The court named Tanzeem Ittehad-i-Ulema Qabail, Bara (Khyber Agency) was revived on July 29. The organization was banned after a crackdown was launched in the tribal agency in 1995 by the Benazir Bhutto government. The organization’s office in Bara tehsil was also demolished by the then government.

The suspects included a 65-year-old man, Naseeb Khan, whose entry has been banned for five years. The other three suspects are: Tariq, Shamim and Ghulamullah Afridi, who have been banned for three years each. They belonged to different areas of Khyber Agency.

A spokesman for the organization, Mustameem Khan, told Dawn that there was no eye witness against the four persons, but they had to ban their entry as there were strong suspicions against them. He added that the court had met at Dhandona area on Saturday last.
