HRCP team visits houses of four ‘missing’ men

BADIN: A delegation of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) on Saturday met relatives of four persons allegedly picked up by the personnel of law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in pre-dawn raids carried out in different areas of the district four days ago. It called for producing them in courts immediately.

The eight-member delegation comprising Amjad Palijo (head of the delegation), Dr Ashothama, Mohammad Saleem Jarwar, Punhal Sario, Lala Haleem Shaikh and others expressed serious concern over the ‘enforced disappearance’ of Aziz Gurgez, Shadi Khan Soomro, Ali Ahmad Bughio and Ghulam Raza Jarwar.

They said the missing persons were not involved in any subversive activity although in the past they had links with some nationalist parties. They said the delegation would soon submit a detailed report on the ‘disappearances’ to high-ups of the commission.
