ISLAMABAD, Aug 3: One person was shot dead and four others were injured in a clash between two rival groups at Bani Gala, Bhara Kahu, on Saturday night, police said.

The police said six armed people, identified as Anwar, Rasheed, Shabir, Habib, Ibrar and Aamir, intercepted Gul Fraz, Tanveer and three other persons, and allegedly opened fire on them.

As a result, the five persons received injuries. Gul Fraz died before reaching the hospital. While, three other injured were taken to Polyclinic, where Tanveer was stated to be in critical condition.

According to the police, the two groups had a brawl while playing a cricket match two days ago. However, the issue was settled between them by the notables of the area. However, on Saturday night, they again had a quarrel which resulted in the murder of one person. The police have made no arrests so far.

Meanwhile, A house was burgled and five vehicles were stolen from different parts of the twin cities, the police said on Sunday.

In the first incident, some burglars broke into the house of Mohammad Ashraf at Rahmatabad and made off with cash worth Rs10,000, 20 tolas gold and other valuables, in the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station.

Mr Aqeel, in an FIR lodged with Civil Lines police, said he had parked his Suzuki Mehran car (IDM-4229) near a bank from where it was stolen.

Najamul Islam’s motorcycle (RIZ-1715) was stolen from Mughalabad, RA Bazaar.

Rauf Islam told the Secretariat police that his Suzuki Margalla car (IDF-8522) was lifted from Pak Secretariat.

Imran Khan and Kamran Habib’s motorcycles — IDF-6927, RIY- 8025 — were lifted from his houses in the jurisdiction of Industrial Area police.

OUR STAFF REPORTER ADDS: The police on Sunday found an abandoned sack containing beheaded body of a man from the bank of Nullah Leh.

Saddar Baruni police said a passer-by spotted the sack and informed the police, who took it into custody and recovered the body of a man who appeared to be in his 20s. Nothing else was found from the sack which could help the police trace the relatives of the deceased.
