MIRPURKHAS, Aug 3: Acting Sindh Governor Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah has said the government will provide relief to rain victims in the light of a survey being conducted in affected areas.
Talking to journalists at the circuit house here on Sunday, he said different parts of Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, Larkana and Mirpurkhas districts were badly affected by the recent rains.
He said a strategy would be devised in future so that no one could cultivate crops on the river bed and along drains.
He said encroachments on these areas would not be allowed.
Mr Shah said the government had provided Rs50 million to affected districts and a relief fund had been set up.
He also called upon philanthropists to help the government in relief measures.
