TIMERGARA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf district president Bashir Khan said on Saturday that the people of Lower Dir trusted the party chief, Imran Khan, and his party would sweep the 2018 general elections in the district.
He was addressing a public meeting at Bakana Rabat Darra where scores of political activists, led by Ameen Khan of ANP and Sher Ali Khan of Jamaat-i-Islami, announced to join PTI. The function was presided over by PTI district joint secretary Alam Shah.
Speaking on the occasion, Bashir Khan and other party activists said that PTI workers in Lower Dir did not want any electoral alliance with other parties, including JI. He said that PTI had lost the NA-34 seat to JI with a difference of only 2,000 votes in 2013.
The speakers said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had brought sustainable changes in the health, education and forestry sectors. They criticised the JI lawmakers and workers for politicising the government’s ‘Sehat Insaf Card’ programme.
DAM: Residents of Jango, Tazagram, Shah Alam Baba, Kitiari and Tindo Dag have demanded of the government to resume work on construction of Sanam Dam.
The demand was made during a meeting of the area elders held at Jango the other day which was attended by representatives of Mir Hassankhel and Babukhel tribes. The area elders, including Ghulam Mohammad and Ali Bakht, claimed that a handful of people in the area had been creating hurdles to construction of the dam.
