Overwhelming love, praise for Misbah and Younis after Windies jinx broken

As Pakistan won the thrilling third and final test against the West Indies, users on Twitter took to the social media site to pay their tributes to the national team.

Until now, Pakistan had yet to defeat the West Indies cricket team on their home ground in a test match.

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman and former captain of the national cricket team, Imran Khan was among the proud cricket fans to send his felicitations to the victorious test team.

"Congratulations to Team Pakistan for their historic test series win in the West Indies," Khan's tweet read.

All-rounder Bilawal Bhatti joined Ahmad Shahzad in congratulating the Pakistani cricket team in their first test series win against the West Indies.

Former captain and Chief Selector of the Pakistan National Cricket Team Inzamam-ul-Haq joined the frenzy as he praised the outgoing Younis Khan and Misbah-il-Haq, stating, "Shabash Boys...What a historic test series win for Pakistan! This one is for Pakistan & #MisYou. Kudos to West Indies for putting up a gallant fight."

Tributes poured in for the retiring stalwarts of the national cricket team, Younis and Misbah, as they walked off the pitch to be received by honour guards.

Misbah's wife, Uzma Khan, did not shy away to show her affection.

'ThankYouYounis' trended on twitter as people also paid tribute to the legendary batsman.

Not to be outdone, 'ThankYouMisbah' trended as well as people were quick to remember the team's most successful test captain.

Pakistan Super League champions Peshawar Zalmi called it the 'end of an era' in their tweet.

Former wicket-keeper Rashid Latif sent his message via video message, as he reminded views that we will not get to see the two cricketers represent Pakistan in white jerseys.

Shahid Afridi also issued a video message, suggesting that the coming generations should be allowed to take advantage of the outgoing legends by utilising their experience.
