Post of DIG headquarters likely to be filled

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Ashraf Zubair Siddiqui, currently serving at National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta), has been placed at the disposal of interior division and was most likely to be posed as DIG headquarters of the capital police, officials stated.

The post of DIG Headquarters has been lying vacant since April 25 when Mohammed Khalid Khattak was appointed as Inspector General of Islamabad police.

According to a notification, Mr Siddiqui, a BS-20 officer of Police Service of Pakistan presently serving in NACTA, has

been transferred and placed his services at the disposal of the interior division, for posting in Islamabad capital territory police with immediate effect and until further orders

The notification of his posting in capital police would soon be issued from the office of Chief Commissioner Islamabad, they stated, adding that he was most likely to be appointed as DIG Headquarters.

Mr Siddiquie was Assistant Inspector General of Police before his promotion ad transfer to National Highway and Motorway Police and then to Nacta.
