PIA introduces Digital Crew app for cockpit crew

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has introduced the Digital Crew app ─ a digital solution for cockpit crew which serves as an automated cabin crew flight observation log and information hub.

Previously, the cockpit crew had to carry large bags and suitcases to log in their flying hours, but now all they need to carry is a tablet or a compatible mobile device through which they can register the necessary data via the Digital Crew app.

The newly introduced mobile application allows the flight crew to fill in rosters and technical manuals during the flight, receive technical support online and offline, integrate with the system to provide timely information, and even calculate efficient allowances and fuel costs.

The initiative is part of PIA's modernisation efforts led by its Chief Information Officer Azhar Nawaz, whereby the work environment can be integrated with state-of-the-art technology and help the company adopt a paperless environment.
