MITHI, July 30: Sindh Local Government Minister Moha-mmad Hussain has said the governor has released Rs2 million from his relief fund in addition to Rs5 million announced by the chief minister for rain victims.

He was talking to Nazims and councillors at the taluka municipal administration office here on Wednesday.

The minister said the affected people had complained to him during his visit to rain-hit areas in the Mithi town about slow relief measures.

He said an inquiry into the matter would be initiated and explanation would be called from officers who were found negligent.

Mr Hussain also announced to set up a relief management and monitoring committee, to ensure that relief operations were carried out in a transparent manner in the district.

The committee was formed on public complaints.
