Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday announced a Rs1 billion package for Jacobabad and said votes are earned through actions and not through sloganeering while addressing a public gathering in the area.
"I have not come empty handed to Jacobabad, I have come with my pockets full," said the prime minister.
Taking a swipe at the ruling PPP, the premier asked why the provincial government has failed to build roads or provide clean drinking water in Jacobabad.
"I ask the Sindh government why no facilities have been given in the district. They could have built roads, schools, hospitals and provided clean drinking water."
"It is the same Jacobabad that existed 100 years ago and nothing has changed."
Prime Minsiter Nawaz Sharif criticised PPP leaders for not delivering on their basic promises to the people of Sindh and said his government was responsible for restoring peace in Karachi.
"When we came to power, we had to restore peace in Karachi as it is the heart of Pakistan," said Nawaz.
He also said before the arrival of PML-N in Sindh, the province was controlled by dacoits and his government in the 90s launched a massive crackdown to restore law and order.
"In 1991, when we came to power, we established peace in the villages of Sindh. Our first priority after coming to power has always been to restore peace in the country," said the premier.
The prime minister, as part of the Rs1 billion package, announced the construction of a vocational center for women of the district and told the public gathering that health cards would be distributed in the district to enable the local population access to healthcare services.
"Our government is focusing on power generation in order to end the energy crises in the country," said the prime minister while adding that 100 electric transformers would be given to the district to improve the local power infrastructure.
The premier also announced a passport center for the area.
Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, addressing the same gathering earlier, said the PPP government turned Karachi in to a dump and ruined rest of the province.
He said the PML-N would sweep the 2018 elections and defeat the ruling PPP.
