KARACHI, July 27: Although rain continued to pelt down on this crowded metropolis, three semifinals and a final was able to be completed on the eighth day of the Karachi Open Sindh Ranking Tennis championship played on the cement courts of the Karachi Club on Sunday.
In the much awaited Men’s singles semifinal, Khalid Ali Nazar had a straight sets victory over Wang Xiao Ping 6-1, 6-2.
Similarly the Junior Doubles semi-finals also proved to be a one sided affair, when Talha Dar and Anil Dar, accounted for Danial Alvi and Shakoor Khan 6-2, 6-2.
However a minor upset was registered in the Men’s Doubles semi-final when third seeds Amir Khan and Adnan Khan got the better of second seeds Jalil Khan and Ali Hasan Bhagat also in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.
In the Men’s Singles final, second seed Jalil Khan took on sixth seed Khalid Ali Nazar. Irrespective of the score the match was full of thrills and spills comprising of long baseline rallies which had the tennis fans cheering till the echo.
The match lasted one hour and 35 minutes in which Jalil came out victorious 6-3, 6-1.

Khalid Ali Nazar beat Wang Xiao Ping 6-1, 6-2.
Junior Doubles (Semifinals)
Talha Dar and Anil Dar beat Danial Alvi and Shakoor Khan 6-2, 6-2.
Men’s Doubles (Semifinals)
Amir Khan and Adnan Khan beat Jalil Khan and Ali Hasan Bhagat 6-3, 6-3.
Men’s Singles (Final)
Jalil Khan beat Khalid Ali Nazar 6-3, 6-1.
