Five looted

RAWALPINDI, July 27: Thieves and pick-pockets deprived five persons of their money, while three vehicles were stolen in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, police said on Sunday.

Thieves slipped into the heavily guarded, Punjab House’ and stole Rs37,000 from Qari Saddique’s room.

The victim, Mr Saddique, told the Civil Line police that he had gone to visit some relatives after locking his room. After he returned he found the lock of his room broken and the cash stolen.

It may be noted here that access to the Punjab House, where the incident took place, is limited to those having security clearance.

In another incident, a pick-pocket deprived a member of Punjab Assembly, MPA Raja Mohammad Ali, of Rs5,500, credit cards, ATM cards and other valuables and escaped.—Staff Reporter
