FAISALABAD, July 26: The law enforcement agencies and jail staff tightened security in and around the central and district jails to avoid Sialkot like incident.
The jail officials, along with police personnel and commandos of Frontier Constabulary, minutely checked the belongings of prisoners.
Checking of articles sent to prisoners by their relatives has also been tightened and all employees on duty have been directed to keep vigil on the activities of jail visitors.
Heavy contingents of FC and Elite force have also been deputed in and outside the jails to meet any eventuality.
Meanwhile, lawyers did not attend courts in Faisalabad, Tandlianwala, Samundri, Jaranwala and adjoining districts of Toba Tek Singh and Jhang to express their anguish over the incident.
Bar associations demanded the government to terminate from service the jail staff responsible for the incident.
Our Sargodha correspondent adds: Sargodha additional sessions judge Shahid Naseer paid a surprise visit to the jail here early in the morning and searched the luggage of prisoners.
He also took a round of the jail and inspected barracks.
Meanwhile, security in and around jail has been heightened. Staff on duty has been ordered to be more vigilant and keep an eye on the prisoners and their visitors.
Meanwhile, the courts remained closed here on Saturday to mourn the killing of three judges in Sialkot.
