SIALKOT, Dec 28: One sub-inspector and two constables are controlling the entire traffic of Sialkot district, having a population of 3.3 million.

Official sources told this correspondent on Sunday that the traffic police of the district had a strength of two inspectors, three sub-inspectors, six assistant sub-inspectors and 56 constables.

One SI, two ASIs and four constables had been deputed at Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi’s native city Gujrat; one inspector, two ASIs and some constables had been deployed at Islamabad for Saarc summit; two sub-inspectors, one ASI, 4 head constables and nine constables had been controlling traffic near the under-construction F.C. College underpass in Lahore.

Of the six officials left, one constable has been performing duties at the Sialkot traffic police office while another constable has been working as the traffic ticket clerk.
