SHIKARPUR: Shaikh Ayaz remembered

SHIKARPUR, Dec 28: Sixth death anniversary of renowned poet and writer Shaikh Ayaz was observed on Sunday at the local press club with the collaboration of the Sindhi Adabi Sangat.

Prominent writer Mukhtiar Malik was the chief guest while well-known journalist Aijaz Mangi presided over the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Malik, Mr Mangi, Agha Saleem, Adal Soomro, Monis Ayaz and others paid tributes to Shaikh Ayaz for his literary services and also highlighted his life and works.

The speakers called upon the people of Sindh to follow the message of Mr Ayaz.

SHOT DEAD: A villager, Gulzar, son of Khair Mohammad Brohi, was killed while his wife, Gul Bibi, received bullet injuries on Sunday when a group of bandits fired at them near Nabi Bakhsh Brohi village, Garhi Yasin taluka.

Meanwhile, two boys, Nazir and Rajab Magsi of Golo Daro village, have gone missing after going to the fields on Saturday evening.

The Golo Daro police have registered a case.
