LAHORE, Dec 27: The Punjab governor, Lt-Gen Khalid Maqbool (Retired), on Saturday called upon philanthropists and the well-off to help the destitute.

“More than 50 million people are living below the poverty line in the country,” the governor observed while speaking at the cheque-distribution ceremony arranged by local NGO Akhuwat at the Governor’s House.—APP
