KARACHI, Dec 26: Candidates appearing in MA (Previous) External Annual Examination 2002 in the subject of English showed poor performance by securing an over all pass percentage of 6.56, as only 42 out of 640 candidates passed the exam.
The University of Karachi, on Friday, announced the results of MA (Previous) examination for external students held about six months back. The highest over all pass percentage was noted in the subject of Urdu (69.64%), followed by Sindhi (60%) and Arabic (60%).
The university has also not been able to perform up to mark, as it is obvious from the fact that the Masters class examinations supposed to be held during the year 2002 were delayed till July 2003, for reasons best known to the university, said an academician.
According to the results, a total of 6,014 candidates appeared in the examinations in the subject of Arabic, Economics, English, General History, International Relations, Islamic History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Sindhi and Urdu. Out of whom, only 1795 were declared pass. The overall pass percentage remained 29 per cent.
The results of 40 candidates were withheld either for want of fine or registration, while results of another 26 candidates were withheld on account of unfair-means or unauthorized change of subject.
BDS RESULTS: The University of Karachi has announced the result of First Professional Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) Supplementary Examinations 2003 and Diploma in Clinical Neurology (DCN) Annual Examinations 2003, adds PPI.
According to a notification, all 23 candidates registered with KU examination department appeared in the first professional BDS supplementary exam 2003, out of whom 21 were declared successful with 91.3 as pass percentage. However, the results of candidates of Fatima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC) would be announced later, the notification added.
Out of 11 candidates registered for DCN exams, ten candidates appeared and all of them were declared passed.
