HYDERABAD, Dec 23: Half-centuries by openers Kamran Sajid and Ghulam Ali enabled PIA make a strong reply to Wapda’s first innings score of 283 on the second day of the Patron’s Trophy Pool ‘A’ match at Niaz Stadium on Tuesday.
PIA were 202 for three at close of play after Kamran hit 68 and the veteran Ghulam Ali exactly 50. The duo put on 98 for the first wicket in just under three hours.
Kamran’s 177-ball knock included eight hits to the fence while Ghulam Ali stroked seven fours and faced 143 deliveries.
Bazid Khan (27) and skipper Asif Mujtaba (16) have so far added 44 for the unbroken fourth-wicket partnership after Mahmood Hamid had been run out for 27.
Earlier, Wapda added 17 runs to the overnight 266 for eight with paceman Aizaz bin Ilyas taking both the wickets to fall.
