PESHAWAR, Dec 23: Light rain hit the city and its surrounding areas on Monday night as bad weather disrupted flight schedule for Chitral valley, Met officials said.

The officials said here on Tuesday that as most parts of the NWFP and the adjacent tribal belt were receiving rains and snow the temperatures in different areas have further decreased.

They said Chitral, Malakand and Parachinar had been receiving light snow which brought down mercury in the plain areas of the NWFP.

Met office recorded 17mm rain in the provincial metropolis, which started late night intermittently.

While minimum temperature was 3 degree centigrade.

The Civil Aviation Authority officials said that a light passenger plane could not take off for Chitral from Peshawar international airport owing to the bad weather in the valley.
