She is undoubtedly the greatest folk and Sufi singer that we have today in the subcontinent. So whenever Abida Parveen comes up with something new, it always proves to be an audio-spiritual delight. And she’s done it again.

Her new single, Mulk-i-Khuda, released on the music app and website Taazi, is a special track presented by her as a ‘gift to the nation’ to mark the arrival of 2017. The lyrics of the song are rendered bilingually — Persian and Urdu — and are pretty special to listen to. Great work from a great artist!
