SUKKUR, Jan 1: Four persons were injured when their rivals opened fire on them in Lakhi Ghulam Shah, some 20 kilometres from Sukkur, on Monday night.
Maher tribesmen opened fire on the car of Karim Dino Jatoi as a result of which Karim Dino Jatoi, his two guards, M. Ismail Jatoi and Gulsher Jatoi, and a boy, Imran Jatoi, were injured.
Soon Jatoi tribesmen attacked the village of the Mahers. Both exchanged fire for two hours.
Later, police arrived there and brought the situation under control.
This was the second incident of a clash between the two tribes during the last four days in which a total of seven tribesmen have been injured.
FIVE INJURED: Five members of a family were injured when two groups of Gadanis clashed with each other in Khanpur on Tuesday.
Among the injured were Abdul Waheed Gadani, his brother, Tedy Gadani, and three women.
TEN HELD: In Sadhoja, two groups of Chachar tribesmen clashed with each other over the possession of a house as a result of which six were injured.
The injured were admitted at the Taluka hospital.
The police arrested ten tribesmen.
TRANSFERRED: The DIG, Sukkur, Syed Mushtaq Shah, transferred four officers of the CIA Department from Sukkur to Ghotki.
They are SI Ali Akbar, and constables Imdad Abro, Zahid Phul, and Inayat Ali Soomro.
PROTEST: At least 25 journalists belonging to Ghotki and Mirpur Mathelo on Tuesday held a sit-in in front of the SSP office, Ghotki, following an armed attack on a local journalist, Ramzan Channa, on Monday night in which he was seriously injured.
The SSP assured them the culprits would be arrested soon.
