LAHORE: The poster-revealing ceremony of an upcoming film Rehbara was held at a local restaurant on Mehmud Ali Kasuri Road on Wednesday.
In a press conference jointly addressed by director and writer, Amin Iqbal, and Human Rights Commission of Pakistan Secretary General I. A. Rehman, Mr Iqbal said earlier he was into the direction of TV plays; however Rehbara would be his maiden effort.
“It will be love story, action, comedy movie and we shall try to connect audience with the film,” he added.
The Rs50 million budget film directed by Amin Iqbal and music composed by Syed Imran Ali will go on sets on Dec 21. It will be released on Eidul Azha in 2017.
The film will be shot in Pakistan and its cast includes Ahsen Khan, Ayesha Omar and Sehrish Khan. It will be debut film of Sehrish Khan, a lawyer by profession, who has won beauty contest in USA. US-based producer Saira Afzal is a doctor by profession.
I. A. Rehman said films were not only a source of entertainment but also one learnt a lot from the medium. He lamented that the government had not paid due attention to the film industry.
Mr Rehman said there were times when film witnessed a golden era in the country and many movies in regional languages also used to be made. He praised the present day filmmakers saying they were producing movies on contemporary issues.
In the end, he revealed the poster of the film.
